Description: Lucas Oil presents the AMA/Maxxis EnduroCross Championship
Introduced to the states in 2004 as a single, stand alone event, the Maxxis National EnduroCross grew to a three-round series in 2007. To celebrate its success in 2008, EnduroCross will expand to a six-round series. The top Off-Road motorcycle riders in the world will be competing for the off-the-hook AMA/Maxxis EnduroCross Championship.
Heading up the task of getting the multi-city EnduroCross Championship down the road is operations consultant, Joel Grover. With over 10 years of experience from Supercross to Freestyle Motocross to Supermoto, Grover sees the opportunity to take this indoor version of Off-Road racing into arenas around the country as an exciting challenge.Arguably “the toughest racing on two wheels”, this popular indoor version of motorcycle off-road racing has become known for its intensely difficult courses! "We line-up all the the logs, rocks, sand pits, water crossings, boulders and dirt locally, so finding local folks to help us is key,” says Off-Road racer Grover. “Convincing the arena management to then let us drag it all into their beautiful arena is rather tricky too!”
The organizers of the AMA/Maxxis EnduroCross Championship Series announced that the 2008 series will be aired in its entirety on the VERSUS Network. The VERSUS Network, dedicated to sports competition of all types, will feature the EnduroCross Championship Series as part of its grassroots based racing program, the Lucas Oil Motorsports Hour.
"EnduroCross is bare knuckled, no holds barred competition. A true test of rider and machine, stated Bob Patison, Executive Vice President of Lucas Oil Products.
Rekluse Motor Sports, manufacturer of industry leading z-Start Clutches, will also be a key partner, as they will once again be the official auto-clutch sponsor for the 2008 championship. Rekluse has supported EnduroCross since the inaugural event in 2004.
