My Machine #925 -Suzuki RM 250

I think that I have this picture thing figured out finally. Don't worry I am not going to bore you with a whole lot of pictures now. I hope to give you some good visuals with some descriptive posts to follow. Now you all will get to see some of the different experiences that I will go through this season. Other than that, I am getting myself and my bike ready for the 3rd of April (Round 2)! Hopefully this weather breaks soon and spring is right around the corner.

Thank You Kenny!!!

I would like to personally thank Kenny for helping me get to the many races this season by donating a practically new bike trailer to DHAGGS Harescramble Racing. The last thing I want to worry about is transporting my bike after putting so much money and work into it. I greatly appreciate this kind gesture from one rider to another. Now all’s I need is to see Buddha when I’m at the starting line! No seriously Kenny, I can’t complain…thanks for the understanding and support.

Hard to Explain...

I often try to explain to people who don't ride dirtbikes why I love riding as much as I do, and like always, I just cannot seem to feel satisfied about the way people still perceive the sport. Here are a couple paragraphs from a recent article that was published in the current Dirt Rider magazine by a guy named Bryan Nyland. In some way I don't feel as offended since there are other people out there who feel the frustration of trying to explain something that only another motocrosser would ever understand.

"Trying to explain to my nonriding friends what makes dirtbiking so addictive is always a challenge. Most of them have a hard time comprehending why I and all the other 'crazy people' enjoy a 'risk' sport that drains our wallet. Get two riders together, though, and the conversation is far different. And despite the risk involved in more-mainstream sports such as the oh-so-gentle football, the general public still thinks we are absolutely out of our skulls to hop on a high-performance machine and tempt fate. But it sure is fun!
Attempting to defend my right to enjoy this madcap activity as a way of remaining physically fit or simply enjoying nature is an even-tougher challenge. Thanks to the insatiable appetite of thrill seekers living vicariously from their barstools or living-room couches, about the only part of the sport most see is a supercross crash video, a televised freestyle competition or SX race or, heaven forbid, a typical Glamis tape. Sadly, a good deal of the joy from a day at the track or on the trail is hidden. Never mind that riding is a great way to release stress."

Round #1- Feb 6th - Dutchmen

What a be-a-utiful day out. I could not ask for a more perfect day to race in Feb. All the conditions were great, except for the track that is. Although it could have been a lot worse, the track was basically frozen. Throughout the race any of the ground that thawed just produced water that covered all of the ice spots that you couldn't see anyhow. What a great turnout by the way. The pits were packed with trailers and hundreds of spectators and riders. I am riding in the 201- Open C class this year. There were 29 other guys on the line with me. I got an alright start, I was about 5th 0r 6th in the first turn. I was feeling good about the bike and then about 10 turns in, on a nice sweeper that I am normally gassing, my back wheel spun out and caught on some hard gound and I went flying. I hurried up and got back on my bike just to notice the rest of the pack racing by. That was just the 1st of three wipeouts. The track was so trickey because it kept changing. Everything was brown so you couldn't tell what was snow and what was ice and for that matter what was some good dirt to hook-up on. Physically I felt good on the bike. I have had some help with conditioning in the off season so I have been working hard on that. Overall I am please with 10th place after falling 3 times. Having never rode in those conditions, let alone racing in them, I think that 10th is respectable. I got my points and I am looking forward to the rest of the season. I am ready to start roosting the competition. I can't wait for Round #2 - back at the Dutchmen. It's not till the 3rd of April so I have some time to get the bike dialed in right. Mad props to my mechanic who got the jetting down on my bike....finally. Thanks Dad. And how could I forget my number one fan.....Thanks Cheri! Hope all is well....talk to you soon!

Testies, 1,2,3...

Whelp, I thought that I would give this web site thing a try. I guess it is a lot easier to keep in contact with everyone when you can check up on me at your leasure. I hope you enjoy the site and please feel free to write some positive feedback, tell me what your thinkin, or let me know what you think about the post, and okay, constructive critisism is fine too. I am basically going to use this site to keep everyone updated about the harescramble season. I am running in the PA State Series, which I finshed 11th in my class last year. I only was able to compete in half of the series and this year I am hittin every round. Oh yeah, I tend to use slang a lot and use misspelled words so please, no need to update me on my grammer. This is my site anyway and I can write how I please. Talk to you after Round #1.
