Round #1- Feb 6th - Dutchmen

What a be-a-utiful day out. I could not ask for a more perfect day to race in Feb. All the conditions were great, except for the track that is. Although it could have been a lot worse, the track was basically frozen. Throughout the race any of the ground that thawed just produced water that covered all of the ice spots that you couldn't see anyhow. What a great turnout by the way. The pits were packed with trailers and hundreds of spectators and riders. I am riding in the 201- Open C class this year. There were 29 other guys on the line with me. I got an alright start, I was about 5th 0r 6th in the first turn. I was feeling good about the bike and then about 10 turns in, on a nice sweeper that I am normally gassing, my back wheel spun out and caught on some hard gound and I went flying. I hurried up and got back on my bike just to notice the rest of the pack racing by. That was just the 1st of three wipeouts. The track was so trickey because it kept changing. Everything was brown so you couldn't tell what was snow and what was ice and for that matter what was some good dirt to hook-up on. Physically I felt good on the bike. I have had some help with conditioning in the off season so I have been working hard on that. Overall I am please with 10th place after falling 3 times. Having never rode in those conditions, let alone racing in them, I think that 10th is respectable. I got my points and I am looking forward to the rest of the season. I am ready to start roosting the competition. I can't wait for Round #2 - back at the Dutchmen. It's not till the 3rd of April so I have some time to get the bike dialed in right. Mad props to my mechanic who got the jetting down on my bike....finally. Thanks Dad. And how could I forget my number one fan.....Thanks Cheri! Hope all is well....talk to you soon!

Yo, I like the site Fender Den...is it time fer a new one? Riding in snow is always a challenge but great experience for those muddy events that will surely arise. Did yo mechanic enter?
